We were asked to partner with a PR firm to provide our insight, design and development expertise to create a new, full featured design for Turk’s – one of New Zealand’s premium chicken brands.
To coincide with their shift to certified free-range farming, the task was to update their online presence and create a site more in line with the premium free-range chicken industry, with an important shift from a wholesaler supply channel to a direct-to-consumer solution. With this new direction in mind, Prefer was asked to fully redesign and redevelop the site, providing guidance on content and optimum user experience solutions. To engage with their new consumer audience, recipe functionality was identified as a key component.
The design and build needed to be planned to ensure a smooth and easy introduction of the new brand. A solid, easy, flexible and secure CMS that Turk’s would be comfortable using and updating the site themselves was essential to the success of the outcome.
A major site overhaul like this involves a lot of moving parts, so coordination between the different contributors was key. We worked alongside an external branding agency to ensure the site was aligned with the new Turk’s branding and provided photography and copy writing guidelines to accommodate the site’s requirements. Then the Prefer design team got stuck in to making the site work well and look amazing for users. The result is a much more contemporary site with an inviting look and feel that Turk’s can be proud to bring to their customers and their industry.
